With nearly 60 years of experience in the region, Géosel provides liquid hydrocarbon storage and pipeline transport services. Our storage capacity reaches 9 million cubic meters.

Safety is our top priority. The Manosque site is safeguarded against fire and explosion risks thanks to its underground design, with no above-ground tanks or truck loading facilities.

Géosel’s connection to the Fos-Berre industrial and port area, as well as to major European pipeline networks, makes it a key player in petroleum logistics in Southeastern France and beyond.

Storage

Géosel has thirty salt caverns, each with a storage capacity ranging from 100,000 to 600,000 m3 spread over 200 hectares.

Manosque site  is operated and monitored 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.  The underground nature of the caverns ensures a secure storage.

In addition to Géosel’s strategic vocation, the site offers commercial storage services to players in the oil sector, such as refineries, the chemical industry, hydrocarbon distribution and trading companies.

Géosel Manosque’s storage caverns can accommodate crude oil, as well as refined products such as diesel, gasoline and naphtha.

Storage capacity can be rented on a private or commingled basis.

Géosel’s logistics are perfectly integrated with the land and sea distribution network, to ensure optimum supply in the event of a crisis. Situated at the gateway to a national and international distribution network, Géosel is able to market both :

  •  Refined products for all types of operators, for distribution via pipelines (SPMR, SPSE and ODC (via SPMR)), trucks, railcars (oil depots) and ships (GPMM port in Fos and Lavéra);
  •  Crude oil for delivery by pipeline (SPSE) and ship (GPMM port in Fos).

Géosel stores its products under stable conditions that ensure their preservation for several years. Strict specifications are required to prevent ageing We ensure continuous control of products entering the Géosel network through :

  •  Acceptance of batches on the basis of bulletins of analysis,
  •  Additional checks during transportation,

During storage, a quality plan, based in particular on regular monitoring of products through periodic sampling, ensures product preservation.

Transport

Géosel provides access to many European regions, as we are connected to the following main pipeline networks : SPMR, SPSE and ODC (through SPMR).

Receiving (storage) capacity is 1000 m3/hour. Products are received at Géosel by pipeline or by sea from the following facilities:

  • SPSE,
  • Petroineos Lavéra,
  • Total La Mède,
  • Lyondell Basell,
  • The Grand Port Maritime de Marseille.

Shipping capacities range from 1,000 to 2,000 m3/hour. Products are unstored from Géosel via pipelines to the following networks and infrastructures:

  • SPSE,
  • SPMR,
  • Dépôt Pétrolier de Fos (via SPMR),
  • ODC (via SPMR), Petroineos Lavéra,
  • Total La Mède, Lyondell Basell,
  • The Grand Port Maritime de Marseille for ship loading.

In addition to  the  hydrocarbons stored, which are transported for storage (reception) and removal from storage (shipment), specific products (jet, condensates, etc.) can also be transported between the various sites connected to the Géosel network, solely as part of transfers.

Géosel owns and operates a network of
300 km of pipelines to transport:
PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
between the site and the main petroleum infrastructures in the Fos/Lavéra area: the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, refineries, the Dépôt Pétrolier de Fos (via SPMR), petrochemical plants and the international pipeline networks of SPSE, SPMR and ODC (via SPMR).
